Alternative Halloween

Halloween was close, and the monsters were in despair. They got together under the Bald Mountain in an extraordinary meeting to see how they solved the problem: the children were not getting trick-or-treat this year. The ghosts were crying, the witches didn't want to fly, and everybody was really sad.

A small green monster asked to address the assembly. He had an idea he wanted to share. When he was in high school, he befriended an Easter bunny. They used to be close friends(this got him a few evil eyes from the older monsters and spirits, but he was determined), and they talked about how the bunnies delivered the Easter eggs, and the children found them the next day. This was the idea: why don't we do the same? It should not be complicated as even bunnies could do it. After this, the assembly was so quiet he thought he had just a few seconds left in his life, but an evil witch with a long nose and big hat said: I can try that, I can fly. A ghost said: I can go through walls. Every other monster had an idea on how to do it, and nobody could hear what the other was saying when the big dragon zombie preceding the assembly roared and called for silence. This could be a good idea, he said; let's do it in a selected group of houses this year as a contingency plan. The small green monster was put in-charge of this alternative candy and chocolate method for troublesome times like the one we are all living now.

Some children were sad on Holloween morning because they won't have any chocolates today, but to their surprise, there were chocolate and candies in different places in the house. Some in high places for the older children, some close to the floor for the small ones. They didn't see them, but the small green monster and his team were always close, smiling with long fangs. They had saved Halloween! Ok, sort of... but they learned there is always a way to bring joy to others in every situation no matter how dreadful or desperate the situation is.

Did you get any chocolate?
